Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills and stains) in one session without the need to switch out devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its modest price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only issue it has is that it can hit objects and walls at full speed. However, an instant glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that displays the time when maintenance is required, such as emptying debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you look at all the details of the cleaning.

1. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they're walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its path and clean them without missing a beat.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, however, it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is striking, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary), it's a pain to take off the mount itself to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and configure these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

1. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mowing abilities. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry mess, including pet hair and dust. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is extremely quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like chairs and table legs. It also allows the robot to reach under furniture that is low-profile making it an ideal option for apartments or condominiums with small spaces. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice touch that assists the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by repeated back-andforth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and understand, and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous convenient features, making it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, thus reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

1. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It does have a number of features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and smaller dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature as it stops the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There are plenty of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app, or via direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also comes with a number of functions that are not available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list however it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
